How many servings are in each meal?
Each large meal serves 6 people and small meals serve 3. DiSH customer's tell us that our portions are generousy sized.
How far in advance do I need to order? For online orders we request at least 48 hours notice because we make your meals fresh to order. You can call the shop directly if you have a more immediate need -- we will do our best to accomodate you.
Do you have meals available even if I don’t have an order? Yes. There's always something ready to go at DiSH. These "extra" meals are available on a first-come-first-served basis and they go quickly! It's a good idea to call early in the day if you have a specific request. Otherwise, simply stop in to check the refrigerator and see what's for dinner!
Are my meals frozen? Most meals are not frozen. They go home refrigerated and can be frozen or stay refrigerated for 3 days before cooking. A few items, like raw seafood or homemade pastas, go home frozen so that you can keep them frozen until you’re ready to use them.
Is the food cooked? Some meals are cooked and just require warming, while other meals are raw so that you can cook them to your preference. All of the meals are labeled with detailed instructions.
Why can't I schedule an order to be picked up on Monday? Monday is the day we receive all of our ingredients from our suppliers. We can't guarantee your order for Monday but typically the chefs have everything ready after 4 PM.
Can recipes be modified to suit my tastes? Usually yes, just let us know when you order and we’ll make adjustments for you.
Is there a minimum order?
No - one advantage DiSH offers is that you can order the exact amount of food you need and have space for! Our ingredients are fresh, we make your meals fresh and you can enjoy them fresh - as often as you like!
What is the recommended procedure for thawing the food?
We suggest placing the meals in the refrigerator one to two days before they are needed. NEVER THAW ANY FOOD ON THE COUNTERTOP. This can cause food born illness and is very dangerous. To thaw quickly, you may use a defrost setting on your microwave or place the pan in cold (not hot or warm) water. If food is not defrosted completely, you will need to increase the cooking times. Can I schedule more than one pick-up at a time?
Absolutely! We understand how helpful a routine is when you have a busy schedule. Our calendar and menu are posted before the month starts. Choose your "DiSH Pick-up Day" and schedule on!
What if I want to omit an ingredient from a dish?
No problem. Just let us know when you place your order and we’ll take care of it. Look for the "Special Instructions" area when you're ordering.
